IT Administrator, Network Infrastructure Services

Reporting to the IT Leader, Network Infrastructure Services, the IT Administrator is a subject matter expert with strong experience in network infrastructure services, and oversees all aspects of global network infrastructure design, administration, maintenance, security and service continuity. This position will provide hands-on support in all the network and network security-related operations as well as helping support teams for escalated issues.

Global Network Infrastructure

Proactively manages the networks (LAN, WAN, WiFi and site Internet connectivity) and equipment including in-cloud and on-premises, in compliance with IT policies and standards (working with ISPs and third-party service providers involved with network support, installation, and upgrades across all SEPTODONT sites globally)
Monitoring
-
Ensures availability of all global network equipment and appliances to maintain continuous operational awareness

Maintains interfaces between monitoring, reporting, service level management and asset management

Investigates, diagnoses and resolves issues in the area of network infrastructure monitoring using troubleshooting tools and techniques and referring to external suppliers when necessary

As a member of the team owning the global infrastructure and network performance monitoring solution, takes responsibility for the availability, maintenance, and evolution of the agreed monitoring tool
Patching

To reduce security risks and increase overall stability on our IT systems, ensures regular patching across all global network infrastructure, including patch evaluation, severity ranking, risk analysis, prioritization, deployment and follow-up

Reports to IT management in a timely manner for incidents (including breaches) or significant warnings

Provides recommendations on the selection and implementation of new technologies

Acts as a mentor to other IT network administrators and technicians providing guidance and training on company IT network infrastructure services and related technologies

Participates in continuous improvement activities related to the IT Network Infrastructure services, collaborating with the appropriate IT Infrastructure & Operations and IT Security teams

Provides smooth execution of network infrastructure services, by means of proactive communication, planning, following agreed prioritization of workload, focusing on continuous improvement

Demonstrates the company mission, vision and values statements, policies, and current standard business practices
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or relevant area
-
Industry standard certifications or training are an asset (i.e. CCNA, Fortinet, Azure Network, ITIL)
Skills:

Knowledge of one or more scripting languages or coding expertise (PowerShell, Shell, Kusto) is an asset

Specialist skills in TCP/IP inter-network and L2/L3 switching design and operations

Agile in thought and action with the ability to tackle difficult problems analytically and to make well-reasoned technical suggestions

Knowledge of Agile, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies applicable to continuous improvement

Strong team player with a "can-do" attitude

Proactive way of analysis and problem diagnostics

Capability of producing good quality specifications and documentation
Self-learner, motivated and able to master new technology in areas of responsibility -
Fluency in English; French is an asset
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of IT network administration experience with diverse enterprise environments

Pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic industry experience is considered an asset

Good understanding of network infrastructure architectures with security by design
-
Industrial IT experience is considered an asset

Experience implementing modern network technologies such as SASE including SD-WAN, FWaaS, CASB, ZTNA, SWG is an asset

Managing public and private IP addresses for VMs, configuring and orchestrating network resources in a hybrid cloud environment

Previous knowledge and experience of Azure cloud networking, Aure Monitor and security will be an added benefit
