What is the opportunity?
RBC Rundle’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team is seeking a motivated, bright and talented individuals with strong technical and inter-personal skills and a desire to succeed in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Candidates will be applying for a full time, RBC CM Rundle GIS position in Calgary, starting immediately.
In this role, you will be working collaboratively with a talented multidisciplinary team in preparing required exhibits and illustrations including maps and other geo-related graphics for pitch books, marketing materials, technical presentations, and data rooms.
RBC Rundle is an integral part of the RBC Energy Investment Banking team, providing advisory services across a range of mandates including corporate mergers and sales processes, asset divestitures, and joint venture negotiations, with transaction sizes ranging from smaller asset sales to multi-billion dollar corporate combinations.
What are your principal responsibilities?
Compile, manipulate, and refine GIS data from various sources, including RBC clients and oil and gas industry databases
Perform spatial analysis with vector or raster data using ArcMap/ArcPro extensions
Use various tools to extract, transform and load data between different data models and formats
Refine maps, technical diagrams, and graphics in CorelDraw
Produce cutaways and 3D graphics using 3D Studio Max
Develop and maintain the accuracy, quality, and integrity of proprietary databases
Work closely with engineers, geologists, and finance professionals on the team to understand project objectives, timelines, and other requirements
Collaborate within the GIS team to prioritize between requests, meet deadlines, and optimize workflows
What are we looking for?
Must have:
University Degree or Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or similar field of study
Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS software suite (ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox) and its extensions
Proficiency using Microsoft Office
Desire to learn other GIS/graphic design software
Ability to work independently and react to shifting priorities and changing timelines in a fast paced, dynamic team environment
Strong and effective communicator with both internal and external audiences
Flexibility to work extended hours when required
Nice to have:
Experience with any of the following: CorelDraw (or other graphics design software), Zetalog, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, GeoSCOUT, XI AssetBook
Background knowledge of the Energy industry
Experience in producing high-quality digital maps and/or illustrations
Knowledge of DLS and NTS land survey systems
Knowledge of SQL, Python and ArcGIS model builder
