About the Opportunity:
As the successful candidate you will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent and 3 – 5 years experience in a litigation role.
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to; the drafting of litigation documents (including applications, claims, defenses, motions, affidavits, affidavits of documents, and orders from endorsements, etc.), filing documents through Civil Submissions Online portal and uploading through Caselines/Case Center, use of effective communication skills with clients, opposing counsel and the Court, scheduling within lawyer’s calendars, liaison with clients and opposing counsel, and performing various other clerk and assistant related tasks
About You:
You are a team player who can contribute positively to a supportive environment but also excel and maintain focus while working independently. You have excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this fast-paced environment. You are also not afraid to ask questions when you need guidance.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an asset for dealing effectively with clients, lawyers and professionals in the interests of our clients.
You possess solid knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, including filing deadlines and use of Caselines/Case Center. Experience with MS Office is a must and knowledge in the applications of ACL, Primafact, Adobe Acrobat, and LEAP are considered an asset.
