At Clare Interior Supplies Ltd., the Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the purchasing and coordination of products and materials to ensure organizational success and customer satisfaction. The Purchasing Coordinator maintains and develops relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure materials and product requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle to support the overall success of Clare
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors s as to better meet product/service needs of customers
- Negotiation or providing assistance with the negotiation for contracts of best price, delivery, terms of payment and purchase conditions, price escalation, and other factors impacting the supply of material
- Identify vendors of materials, equipment, services, and supplies, and determine product availability, prices, and terms of service and/or product
- Make purchases and co-ordinate procurement, in accordance with the contracts in force
- Generate and receive purchase orders
- Manage procurement and inventory logistics in compliance with the scheduling principles and Clare company guidelines
- Ensure the integrity of inventory data, including changing part/product numbers and updating vendor documentation in the system
- Maintain sound procurement management
- Handle special orders and co-ordinate customs processes along with shipping by air, sea or land, as needed
- Ensuring quality, reliability and responsiveness to operational needs which meet or exceed organizational expectations.
- Logistics management including expediting for critical site deliveries
- Generate and submit various reports for weekly cost reviews;
- Continually and proactively keep informed about new products and consumer trends
- Perform any other duty related to the position upon request by Management
Skills and Requirements:
- Professional or college diploma in purchasing, logistics, or administration, or the equivalent;
- 4+ years relevant experience in a similar position;
- Knowledge of drywall, ceiling systems, drywall tools and other building materials considered a desirable asset
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and knowledge of SAP an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Attentive to detail, analytical in nature and result oriented;
- Ability to adapt and organize workflow in a very busy environment;
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
