The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is an impact investor, working in partnership with governments, Indigenous communities and the private sector to invest in infrastructure that benefits Canadians. With a minimum 2–3 years experience in corporate accounting and A/P processes, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the CIB. With a strong attention to detail and able to work autonomously, the candidate will take an active role with the accounts payable function, invoice/expense report processing, preparing cheques, ACH payments, assist with full-cycle month-end accounting, preparing journal entries and bank reconciliations, data management of a post procurement contract database, maintenance of daily cash flow and help with other ad hoc reports, such as HST filing, expense analysis, and preparation of audit related working papers.
Your responsibilities include:
Corporate accounting

Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries to the ERP system.

Assist with monthly bank reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliation.

Assist with monitoring daily cash flow and monthly funding request.

Maintain quarterly accrual process and prepare accrual entries.

Assist in the preparation of GST/HST rebate filings.
Accounts payable
-
Execution of all Account Payable (AP) functions including processing of invoices and expense reports, and preparation of cheque runs, wire payments, other EFT payment forms.

Ensure the correct coding and proper authorization in line with the CIB’s Travel and Hospitality Guidelines.

Assist with month-end AP subledger closing and expense analysis.

Coordinate interim and annual internal and external audit requests.
Financial Systems
-
Assist in the implementation of new Expense Management system including reconciling and testing source data, reports, and templates.

Maintain data integrity of a post procurement contract database.

Ensure ongoing systems and data integrity.
Other
-
Perform other duties and special projects, as required.

Complete ad hoc financial analysis and reports as required.
Your ideal profile:
-
Minimum 2–3 years of experience working in corporate accounting or accounts payable-related position in financial services industry or public sector.

Post-secondary or university degree, ideally in accounting/business.

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic 365 Business Central, Customer Relationship Management and intermediate-advanced level of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Experience with maintaining databases and other tools to manage and organize data.

Previous experience in supporting financial systems implementations and internal control procedures.

Knowledge of corporate credit card procedures and expense reporting tools.

A high level of attention to detail and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects with a sense of urgency.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in teams/groups and to build effective, trusting relationships across the Bank at all levels and with external clients/partners.

Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

Possession of or working towards a CPA designation is an asset.
