Job Description:
Pictou Landing First Nation is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time term position for a duration of 6 months or longer, with the potential for permanent full-time employment in the future. As an Accounting Assistant, you will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to prepare Monthly Financial Statements and provide support in generating reports for Senior Directors, Managers, Chief, and Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of Monthly Financial Statements
- Generate supporting reports for Senior Directors, Managers, Chief, and Council
- Perform full-cycle accounting tasks
- Work on-site at our location
- Utilize standard accounting software applications
- Demonstrate proficiency in Excel
- Be task-driven and work effectively in a team environment
Qualifications:
- Secondary training in accounting
- A proven track record of at least five years of accounting experience, including service sector and retail
- Knowledge of standard accounting software applications
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong task-oriented work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a team
