Job Title: Legal Assistant
- Assist our lawyers in drafting and preparing a wide range of legal documents, including court filings, contracts, agreements, land titles documents, and estate planning documents.
- Manage and organize legal files with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring adherence to firm protocols.
- Compile case information to bolster litigation and transactional matters.
- Efficiently coordinate appointments, meetings, and court appearances for legal professionals.
- Interact professionally and courteously with clients, opposing counsel, and external stakeholders.
- Provide essential administrative support, encompassing data entry, file management, and document retrieval.
- Participate in trial preparations and aid in the compilation of trial materials as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth by staying informed about legal developments.
- Diploma or degree in Legal Administration or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Legal Assistant, particularly within Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Real Estate, or Wills & Estates, is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Prior experience with Clio is preferable.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, keen attention to detail, and adept multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to become a commissioner for oaths if not currently certified.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and the ability to uphold strict confidentiality.
