This position is strongly suited for individuals who have awareness and interest in real estate. You will be supporting the day-to-day requirements of a busy real estate practice. Responsibilities:
· Prepare and edit both legal and non-legal documentation
· Communicating in a professional manner with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, court staff, and staff of other law firms;
· Organize physical and digital project folders
· Produce the highest quality of work
· Handle daily administrative details
· Manage duties related to accounting
· Arrange meetings
· Calendar management
· Accountable for all work assigned
· Positive attitude with the willingness and initiative to support the team as well as work independently;
· Confidentiality
Requirements:
· Previous experience as a real estate legal assistant is an asset
· Successful completion of a related post-secondary program (e.g. Executive Assistant, Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk)
· Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
Skills:
· MS Office Suite of Applications
· Some knowledge of the real estate, or a willingness to learn
· Ability to learn firm customized software (PCLaw, Amicus, etc.) and adept at learning new software as required
· Strong verbal and written communication
· Ability to problem solve
