Our client, a respected Public Accounting Firm in Montreal, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic full time permanent opportunity with an organization that is looking for a talented Senior Accountant who is interested growing their career and playing an integral role within the team.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will include:
- Full cycle accounting;
- Preparation of regular financial reports, income statements, balance sheets and statement of cash flow for various clients;
- Monthly and quarterly financial close process;
- Preparation of timely and accurate journal entries as required;
- Preparation and review of working paper files and corporate tax provisions and returns;
- Review of general ledger account activities to ensure account accuracy of financial statements;
- Preparation and review of HST returns, payroll remittances, bank reconciliations;
- Preparation and review of Personal and Corporate Income Tax returns;
- Meeting new clients and promoting firm services; and
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and skills
- 3+ years full cycle accounting experience in public practice
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and adheres to high standards for work quality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
- Proficiency with CaseWare software is an asset
- CPA designation or Pursuing CPA will be considered as an asset
