Allied REIT is looking for a Senior Specialist, Lease Documentation (Legal Affairs).
At Allied, everything starts with purpose. In the role of Senior Specialist, Lease Documentation, you will draft and negotiate complex office, retail and telecom lease and ancillary agreements for our portfolio in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. This, in turn, allows Allied to build relationships with tenants on legally sound foundations.
Please note, our department of Lease Documentation is often referred to as Legal Affairs or Legal Operations in the industry.

Prepare, draft and negotiate commercial leases and related documentation.

Complete all due diligence activities related to requests for landlord’s consent to transfer.

Ensure the compliance of agreements according to federal and provincial laws, as well as departmental organizational policies, procedures and strategies.

Communicate and negotiate non-business provisions contained in the various agreements directly with lawyers, tenants and other third parties.

Support the development of policies related to lease pre-approvals, precedents and sections.

Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders in response to lease related matters.

Assist internal departments with legal queries.

A bachelor’s degree in law or recognized college level Law Clerk program or equivalent work experience.

4 to 6 years of experience drafting and negotiating leases in a real estate environment.

Ability to work both independently and cohesively with team members.

Strong computer skills and use of MS Office.

Excellent communications skills with problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.

A continuous improvement mindset.
Would be an asset:

Strong knowledge of Urban Data Centers leases.

Experience with M-files and YARDI.
