McInnes Cooper is seeking a motivated and proactive Accounting / Billing Clerk to join our Finance & Accounting team in our Halifax office for a one- year term position. The incumbent will provide high quality trust and billing support within our firm; working to ensure all internal and external clients receive the highest level of client service.
As an Accounting/Billing Clerk, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining all daily processing and inquiries related to:
Trust: disbursements, deposits, investments, bank wires
Creation of invoices and credit memos;
Support firm members with the implementation and maintenance of billing rates;
Reconcile the firm's billing cycle including pre-billing and invoice submission;
Facilitate quality control and audit processes; and,
Assist with administrative support tasks, including filing.
The successful candidate will possess the following skill set:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Finance Accounting, or Business;
Minimum one year of related experience;
Proficient in data entry and Microsoft Excel with exceptional attention to detail;
Exceptional communication skills, a special focus on client service and the highest degree of professionalism;
Experience with legal billing software;
Knowledge of provincial law society trust account rules;
Experience working in a professional services environment will be considered an asset; and,
A positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment!
