Essential Functions:
- Take care of the day-to-day management of the legal affairs of the Company and its subsidiaries
- Experienced in drafting and reviewing contractual agreements and other legal documents, including shareholder agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and corporate financings
- Supervise Law Clerks
- Provide assistance to stakeholders with respect to various annual and other filings with regulators in both Canadian and international jurisdictions
- Provide information, support and direction to outside counsel representing the Company in litigation and other matters
- Work with management and external counsel on intellectual property related matters, as may be required from time to time
Requirements:
- Ability to run corporate law files independently
- Ability to complete transactions from start to finish
- Self-starter and ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Experience drafting legal documents
- Legal Research skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work under pressure and work as a flexible team player
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent analytic, legal drafting, oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Education:
- A University degree in Law
- Member of the Bar Association of any of the Canadian provinces or territories.
Work Experience:
- Between 3-5 years of experience as a lawyer in corporate or commercial law gained in private practice or as in-house counsel.
