This is an in-office role located at our head office in Richmond, BC.
What a Production Designer Does:
As a Production Designer, you will be responsible for translating written or verbal concepts into seamless designs that consistently exceed expectations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in preparing files for print production.
- Design high-quality products in alignment with brand guidelines, client specifications, and project requirements
- Complete product assembly to ensure a polished final product
- Maintain adherence to color management standards throughout the design process
- Generate imprints using Teldon’s in-house image engine
- Conduct comprehensive image research to enhance design concepts
- Perform preflight, editing, and imposition of files for output, actively monitoring output quality
- Uphold proofing protocols to ensure product integrity
- Demonstrate a commitment to meeting deadlines and production schedules
- Attend department meetings as required
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Minimum of 2 years of print design experience, preferably in a corporate or agency setting
- Diploma in Graphic Design or a related field
- Proficiency in graphic design software including InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Profound understanding of printing and web requirements, procedures, and workflows
- Proficiency in both web and print design
- Experience in print-based magazine publishing is an asset
- Experience in digital pre-press operation is an asset
- Strong conceptual abilities, typography skills, and the capability to discern and harmonize elements of balance, proportion, and colour
- Excellent command of English spelling and grammar skills (copywriting skills are an asset)
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with acute attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
