Counsel Lead, Tort
What can you expect in this role?
- Lead and oversee a team of litigation lawyers handling tort claims litigation
- Contribute to leadership of Definity’s Claims Litigation Unit
- Opportunity to provide advice to the Claims department on tort claims litigation handling generally
- Limited caseload of litigation files
What do you bring to the role?
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with at least 3 years coaching or mentoring other lawyers
- At least 4-10 years of litigation experience, especially personal injury and/or insurance defence
- Strong commitment to coaching and mentoring developing lawyers
- Passion for finding better ways
- Empathy and ability to motivate
- High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility
- Team player, adaptable to a changing environment
- Law Degree from an accredited law school (LLB or Juris Doctor)
- Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario to practice law as a lawyer in Ontario
- This role requires clearance of a background check and disciplinary action check
