Summary:
Xtract One Inc. is working on solutions that take data from physical sensors (video, RF, electromagnetic) and feed it into our AI models. We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the quality and reliability of our cloud application hosted on AWS. This position is part of an initiative to grow a small quality engineering team. As such, we’re looking for an individual who likes startup-like environments and enjoys having lots of influence in how tests are designed, built and deployed.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our cloud application hosted on AWS. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining manual and automated test suites that validate the functionality, performance, and scalability of our application components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams of developers, architects, and product managers to deliver high-quality software to our customers.
Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts and frameworks to validate the cloud application's functionality, performance, and integration.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and design, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Work with AWS services such as Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, AWS Device Farm, and others to simulate real-world usage scenarios and test application components.
- Perform load and stress testing to assess the application's scalability and performance under different conditions.
- Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking systems, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Analyze test results, generate comprehensive test reports, and provide feedback to stakeholders on the quality status of the application.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and best practices in cloud-based testing.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality engineering or software testing roles, with a focus on automated testing.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services such as Amplify, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and others.
- Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or similar.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, quality assurance principles, and defect tracking systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar, are a plus.
