Job Summary
The AR Manager leads a team of AR Analysts, they manage AR portfolio for the Canadian and US group of Companies that covers dispute and cashflow management through collection.
The AR Manager is responsible to provide direction, guidance and monitor the execution of the corporate credit policy that balances risk and revenue at the optimal level to support business objectives.
Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for completing month end AR reports.
Prepare portfolio evaluation to assess the performance of all AR Analysts’ portfolio.
Review portfolios to identify credit and/or collection issues
Analyze and approve credit limits and support AR Analysts to minimize credit risks
Proposes modifications as required and ensures credit policy and procedures are up to date and followed at all time.
Lead the team to strengthen cashflow position by maintaining a strong and healthy accounts receivable portfolio
Inspire, mentor and develop team members with hands on experience to promote optimal performance and career development.
Work closely with AR Analysts, Sales, Customer Service and/or customers with escalations and high credit risks
Handle customers’ legal/bankruptcy/insolvency documentation
Identify and generate manual tax invoices for 3rd party drop shipments (US and CA)
Analyze and approve accounts receivable adjustments on daily basis
Authorize final demand letters and interact with Collection Agencies when required
Resolve intercompany issues related to accounts receivable
Implement and assist with projects to be more efficient for the accounts receivable and credit team
Assist in the internal and external audit
Qualifications & Experience
MBA or CCP (Certified Credit Professional)
7+ years of proven experience in managerial capacity ideally in a manufacturing environment
Prior experience in handling Operations in North America
Strong experience in credit and collection
Solid understanding of export sales and Letter of Credit
Dynamic, innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Strong people management, motivational and mentor skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to get along with all levels of management.
Experience handling a large AR portfolio
Flexible & Adaptable
Great teammate with excellent customer focus.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Excellent computer skills and proven track record to function in a highly computerized environment.
