Our client’s office is recruiting for an Intermediate Paralegal for the Financial Services group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists with drafts and finalizes loan, corporate and security documentation in connection with bank financing and commercial mortgage transactions
- Assist with conducting and reviewing all necessary due diligence searches, including PPSA and LTO and liaising with out-of-province offices
- Drafts and handles correspondence with other law firms and with clients
- Attends to registrations and other security filings
- Reviews executed documents and communicates deficiencies
- Reviews post-registration searches
- Drafts payout letters and attends to payout and all closing matters
- Drafts and finalizes reporting letters, legal opinion letters and post-closing deliverables
- Follows up on outstanding deficiencies and other matters and attends to all final reporting
- Assists and supports other functions within Financial Services Group
- Other related responsibilities, as required
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized paralegal program an asset but not mandatory
- Experience handling a high volume of transactions
- Excellent computer and research skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail to produce high quality work under tight deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately
- Ability to work well both independently and as a contributing member of a team
