Position Overview: As a Junior Machinist, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing operations, assisting in the production of precision components. Under the guidance of experienced machinists, you will have the opportunity to learn and apply machining techniques to fabricate parts according to specifications. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and a pathway to professional growth in the machining industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior machinists in setting up and operating a variety of machines, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders to understand project requirements.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Operate machine tools to fabricate and modify parts, using appropriate cutting tools and techniques.
- Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as necessary to maintain proper tolerances and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues in machining processes and suggest improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal machining or CNC program is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of machining principles and experience in operating machine tools is desirable.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and measuring instruments.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
