Applications are being accepted for a Junior Legal Assistant to join busy litigation practices of employment, Aboriginal, and construction arbitration law. The legal assistant will prepare letters and documents as instructed and will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to maintain superior organization of the law practices (electronic and paper filing, scanning, preparing accounts, requesting cheques, paying invoices, opening and closing files, etc.). This is an excellent growth opportunity position ideally suited to a candidate who is willing to learn and advance as the position progresses. Responsibilities will increase through training and mentorship to include litigation file management, preparing/filing pleadings and other legal submissions, communicating with clients, appointment scheduling. The candidate must be a self-starter who is extremely organized, detail oriented, and capable of following instructions and working independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required as well as an excellent aptitude in technology and Office 365.
