What you will do
At Volvo Financial Services you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. You will analyze prospective customer profiles, making credit decisions and recommendations on truck, construction, and coach market financing & lease transactions. You will provide the highest level of customer service, supporting VFS Canada Inc.’s mission to be the premier captive finance company in Canada. The position within VFS Canada Inc. reports to the Manager, Credit Team Canada. This is an onsite position.
You will also:

Manage an assigned queue of fleet accounts and adjudicate credit submittals for truck fleet, coach, and construction transactions;

Support dealers, customers, and the VFS District Financial Managers (DFM) by providing timely credit underwriting on dealer or DFM credit submittals;

Perform loss analysis projections on customer fleet transactions;

Review Fleet financial statement data and other credit information to generate assessments and conclusions;

Approve credit submittals and document credit approvals in writing within delegated credit authorities and in accordance with established VFS credit policies and guidelines;

Present files outside of delegated authority to Canadian, North American and Executive Credit Committees;

Negotiate changes in standard VFS documentation and present to legal for review and approval;
-
Prepare and negotiate priority agreements and release of lien waivers on fleet customers and present non-standard requests to legal for review and approval;
-
Interact extensively with the sales force, dealers, and customers to effectively negotiate transactions and communicate credit decisions in a timely manner;

Keep up to date on Volvo, Mack and Prevost product offerings as well as VFS-sponsored finance programs;

Participate in the various system enhancements ensuring testing compliance and acceptance in accordance with operational requirements;

Travel on occasion as necessary to meet with current and prospective fleet customers;

Assisting in the development and implementation of retail credit programs;
-
Effectively utilize pricing tools and T-Value to facilitate and negotiate revised deal structures;

Provide support and backup on scorecard transactions, syndication activities, and workouts as required;

Provide support and backup to the other Fleet Analyst as needed;
-
Perform sundry administrative duties as delegated by Manager, Credit Team.
Who are you?

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics or equivalent work experience.

Strong credit background with 3 to 5 years of experience in mid to large-ticket commercial credit adjudication preferably with experience in the equipment finance industry (trucks, buses, and construction equipment).

Captive Automotive Finance industry experience is an asset.
-
Proven record of achievement in structuring commercial transactions in an asset-based lending environment.

General knowledge of Business, Customer Service, Credit, Legal, and Vendor Management is necessary.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound business judgment, possess strong organizational and negotiation skills and have the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, demanding environment;

Senior level of understanding on financial statement analysis and the calculation of key financial ratios;
-
Strong presentation skill, problem-solving and analytical skills to arrive at quality decisions;
-
A thorough understanding of security documentation related to loan and lease transactions;
-
Strong understanding of basic security perfection procedures including a basic level of understanding of both the PPSA and The register of personal and movable real rights (“RDPRM”) registration requirements;

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Bilingual written & verbal communication skills are an asset;

Proficient in MS Office including MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint;

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
