Legal Assistant
Duties:
- Provide clerical support to attorneys and legal professionals
- Prepare and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Organize and maintain client files and case documents
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Perform data entry tasks to update case management systems
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Previous experience working as a legal assistant or in a similar role is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Proficient in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures is beneficial
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
