Sampogna Law Firm P.C. is a results driven law firm dedicated to helping clients navigate their legal rights and obligations. Our team is seeking a legal assistant or Law Clerk with minimum 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas of legal practice:
· Civil Litigation;
· Criminal Law;
· Family Law;
· Commercial Litigation;
· Construction Law;
Familiarity with other areas of law will be considered an asset.
Mandatory Requirements:
· Must reside in Ontario;
Requirements:
· Comfortable working with technology (Office 365 programs, Outlook, OneDrive, PCLaw, Zoom, TeamViewer, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, etc.);
· Strong attention to detail / ability to prioritize tasks;
· Adept at critical thinking / analysis / problem solving;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Highly self-motivated and organized;
· Strong time-management skills;
· Comfortable with quality advocacy;
· Familiar with related responsibilities:
- Prepare legal files;
- Conduct research to support legal documents;
- Draft, proofread, and review legal documents;
- Meet limitation dates and deadlines;
- Enter dockets and send out bills every month;
- Prepare documents for trial, mediations, discoveries, settlement negotiations, arbitration, etc.;
- Brief senior counsel on all files and non-file matters;
- Have knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Have knowledge of LSO reporting, audit, and professional development requirements;
- Have knowledge of LawPro levy reporting and insurance application requirements;
· Familiar with OneKey and Caselaw;
· Solid understanding of the legal process and its rules;
· Proven ability to work under pressure
· Excellent client service / positive relationships with clients and colleagues;
