Labour and Employment Litigation Legal Assistant (14-Month Contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide all administrative support including conducting conflicts checks, opening and closing files;
- Maintenance of established filing systems, including correspondence, reports, records, confidential
files and B/F files and/or systems;
- Document production support for daily correspondence, pleadings;
- File preparation and management;
- Assist with booking tribunal / court and other hearing dates, communicate with registries;
- Organize, assemble and documents and books in support of tribunal and court hearings as required;
- Responsible for the billing support including generating bills on a monthly basis, understanding and adapting to specific client requirements and transmitting bills through electronic billing hubs as may be required by clients;
- Other legal duties as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Legal Administrative Assistant program and some professional office experience preferred;
- Experience in employment and labour or litigation required;
- Understanding and familiarity with administrative tribunal and court procedures;
- Strong attention to detail skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions; and
- Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each.
