Job Description:
The Paralegal will be responsible for:
- Creating and filing provincial and federal incorporations and registrations, preparing and sending annual maintenance and day-to-day corporate and society transaction documents, preparing resolutions, sending communications to companies, creating and maintaining corporate records binders;
- Preparing documents and document management for Specific Claims Submissions and Specific Claims Tribunal Hearings, and filings with Registry, research and memo drafting to support Specific Claims;
- Searches and registrations on the Indian Land Registry System and other online registries;
- Drafting and editing correspondence, agreements and other documents;
- Creating and maintaining legal precedents and updating law library;
- File opening, management, and closing; and
- Drafting and filing court documents on occasion.
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Excellent spoken and written English including composition, spelling, grammar, and editing skills;
- Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation along with strong drafting, communication, analytical, and organizational skills;
- Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Ability to manage, organize and prioritize work independently,
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and willing attitude;
- Interest in working at a small firm for Indigenous communities; and
- Diploma or Certificate from a recognized school or 2 years of experience.

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
