John Ross & Sons Ltd. is a fourth generation, family-owned, scrap metal recycler. The company is the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 70 years, primarily in Halifax. John Ross & Sons Ltd. specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.
Position Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. The individual must possess strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities are

Clerical tasks including organizing files and day to day processing

Answering phones and handling internal and external customers and staff and responding to client inquiries.

Assist with cash management entries
-
Detail-oriented, with superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment.

Accounts payable entry
-
Accounts receivable entry
-
Various reports, data entry, filing, front desk support
Desired Skills and Experience
-
Experience reconciling general ledgers an asset
-
Full accounting cycle experience an asset

3 years experience in an accounts receivable/payable role

Advanced Excel skills
-
Excellent communications skills both verbal and written as well as computer proficiency
Hours of Operation
The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5: 00pm, and every third Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm.
