We are seeking an energetic person for the role of Branch Accountant to be based at our Sainte-Julie, QC or our Mississauga, ON office.
Responsibilities:
Position Overview: Work closely with project/sales management, procurement, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, cost capture, revenue recognition and project billing.
Project accounting

Responsible for accounting activities for the designated projects including understanding of the job cost data capture, billings and sales agreements/contracts

Work with project/sales management to ensure costs are recorded in the correct weekly period and revenue recognition is in accordance with IFRS15

Work with project management to develop monthly project forecasts, analyze and investigate variances to budget and to prior month

Lead/assist the presentation of monthly forecasts for senior management

Participate in ad hoc projects analysis as necessary

Weekly inventory management entries
Regional accounting
-
Ensure financial results are in accordance with IFRS and internal policies and procedures
-
Income statement analyze and investigate variances to budget and to prior month of indirect job costs, shop costs, equipment costs, and general and administrative
-
Prepare accounting period-end entries and maintain the accounting records in accordance with policies and controls including preparation of relevant reconciliations.
- Assisting with the corporate monthly close process

Prepare annual regional budget and quarterly re-forecasts

Provide support and justification for audit requests

Other ad hoc inquiries as they arise
Accounts receivable
-
Review of and posting of project billings in correspondence with project/sales management

Entry of sales invoices into ERP (Dynamics)

Work directly with collections personnel to facilitate timely collections

Project statements, collection courtesy calls, collection notes
-
Bank deposits as required
Systems ERP
-
Reconciliation of sales/inventory system (Zoho) to/from accounting system (Dynamics)

Entries as necessary into applicable system

Liaison with receiver/accounts payable individual on entries

Assistance with project/sales financial data as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years related experience in accounting

Minimum of a college diploma or university degree in Accounting or Business

Enrollment in CPA designation

Experience with IFRS, application of accounting policies and account reconciliations

Commissioner of oaths is considered an asset
