Solomon, Grosberg LLP is a small boutique law firm located in downtown Toronto. We are seeking a full time legal assistant with a minimum of 3 years experience for Real Estate.
Responsibilities:
- Managing residential and commercial purchase, sale and mortgage files from start to finish;
- Conduct title and writ searches, prepare requisitions, charges, deeds, and discharges, order title insurance;
- Preparing and reviewing title searches, off-title searches, search summaries and requisitions;
- Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, and other law offices in order to complete closings;
- Communicate with lenders to request for funds and deal with issues with funding; and,
- Prepare closing documents for signature as well as closing/lender reports.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Law Clerk/Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3+ years real estate experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle purchases/sales/refinances for both residential and commercial properties
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet demanding deadlines
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teraview, and PC Law (bookkeeping not required).
- Conveyancer an asset
- Corporate/Litigation experience an asset
Salary will be commensurate with experience/ability, to be discussed during interview.
