Position Overview:
As our Senior Database Administrator, you'll oversee MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance, security, and data governance compliance. You'll deploy and optimize cloud-based databases (preferably Azure), manage security and automation, collaborate across teams, maintain documentation, and play a pivotal role in data migration. Your work will be essential for delivering high-quality AI solutions in our dynamic environment.
What you'll do here:
Database Management:
- Administer and maintain MongoDB and PostgreSQL database systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Plan, implement, and manage database backups, recovery strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Data Governance:
- Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with data teams to define data quality standards and establish data access controls.
Cloud Technologies:
- Deploy, configure, and manage MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments, with a preference for Azure.
- Utilize cloud-specific tools and services to optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with data security regulations.
- Regularly assess and address database vulnerabilities, applying necessary patches and updates.
Automation and Scripting:
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for database provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
- Automate routine administrative tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, data engineers, and system administrators to ensure seamless integration and efficient data flow.
- Provide guidance and support to developers on database design best practices and query optimization.
Documentation:
- Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Keep documentation up to date with changes and improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest database trends, cloud technologies, and best practices to propose and implement improvements.
- Work closely with the Data Scientist leads, CTO, Product, Engineering, DevOps and other members of the AI Data Science teams
- Collaborate with the product team, share feedback from project implementations and influence the product roadmap.
- Be comfortable in a highly dynamic, agile environment without sacrificing the quality of work products.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience of 3-5 years as a Database Administrator with strong expertise in MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, with Azure experience preferred.
- Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Proficient in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in implementing data security measures and compliance.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications in database administration and cloud technologies are a plus.

- Experience in system analysis, design, development, and implementation of data ingestion pipeline in Azure and AWS
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT
- End-to-end data solutions (ingest, storage, integration, processing, access) on Azure
- Experience developing business applications using NoSQL/SQL databases.
- Experience working with Object stores, storage accounts and JSON is must have
- Should have hands-on experience with Python, Django
- Great knowledge of Data Science models
- Plus to have knowledge on Snowflake
- Solid experience in AWS AI solutions such Recognition, Comperhind and Transcribe
- Experience with Azure Data services
- Experience in building MLOps Pipelines
